Flippy Sample - New Forecasted Orders
Overview of Flippy - Forecasted Orders
Summary: Learn about the new AI-driven features for Flippy, including automated order forecasting and intelligent batching to improve efficiency and reduce customer wait times.
1. Overview of AI Forecasting
With the Project Drawbridge: Phase 1A rollout, Flippy now utilizes AI Forecasting to predict incoming traffic. Instead of waiting for a manual entry, Flippy proactively prepares food based on historical data and time-of-day trends.
Why this matters:
-
Reduced Wait Times: Food is dropped in anticipation of drive-thru arrivals (usually 5–10 minutes out).
-
Improved Freshness: Ensures hot food is ready in the hold exactly when the customer places their order.
How to Identify Forecasted Orders
On the Flippy touchscreen, you will notice a new indicator:
-
The "F" Icon: Orders generated by the AI will display a red-circled F in the bottom right corner of the order card.
Requirements for Forecasting
-
Flippy must be in Cooking Mode.
-
Forecasting is automatically suppressed if the elevator or dispenser reports a hardware error.
2. Understanding Order Batching
To maximize throughput, Flippy now features Smart Batching. This allows the system to group multiple orders of the same food type into a single fry basket.
Example: If three separate "Small Fry" orders are placed, Flippy will combine them into one large basket rather than using three separate baskets. This optimizes oil space and reduces mechanical wear.
How to Monitor Batched Orders
-
Basket Count: A number will appear inside a red circle on the basket icon to show how many individual orders are currently cooking in that basket.
-
Order Details: Tap on any active cooking order to open a detail card. This card will list exactly how many orders are contained within that specific fry cycle.
